“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name, and make his deeds known among the people” (Psalm 105:1). “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (Psalm 107:1). “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). One of the most common encouragements in the Bible is that we should be express our gratitude to God. As it says in one of the Holy Communion prayers, “It is indeed right, it is our duty and our joy, at all times and in all places to give you thanks and praise, holy Father, heavenly King, almighty and eternal God,
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord.” Harvest festival reminds us of the duty and joy of thanksgiving; we thank God, because he’s the source of the countless blessings we receive each day, so many of which we take for granted. Let’s take this Harvest spirit all through the year; as expressed in the most famous of the Harvest hymns, “All good things around us are sent from heaven above, so thank the Lord, O thank the Lord, for all his love.”
