"Cafe Building Project" - Completing the Welcome
A new community space for Allesley Park
St Christopher’s Church has been a blessing to our community for over 60 years. As we look to the future, we want to ensure our building remains a vibrant, accessible, and warm "home" for everyone in Allesley Park.
Our mission is to be God’s family; Loving like Jesus. "Completing the Welcome" is our project to make that hospitality visible to everyone who passes our doors.

Our current 1960s structure has served us well, but its hidden entrance and cramped corridors no longer meet the needs of our growing community. Our vision includes:
- A Clear Welcome: We are replacing the hidden entrance with a modern, bright foyer that makes our hospitality visible to every passerby.
- A Friendly Foyer: We are replacing a cramped corridor with a spacious, warm welcome area—a comfortable place for visitors to gather and wait during busy events.
- Connecting Our Facilities: A new link extension will connect the kitchen and toilets directly to both the main church and the hall. This "internal bypass" allows multiple groups to use the building at the same time without interruption.
A "Community Living Room"
At the heart of this project is the creation of a dedicated space for friendship, support, and quiet connection.
- Small Hospitality, Big Impact: A dedicated, level-access space for friendship and support right in the heart of our community.
- Flexible Use: A design that allows the café area to function alongside church and hall activities. It provides the perfect breakout space for children’s groups on Sundays and local organizations during the week.
- A Local Meeting Place: Providing a warm, accessible space for our neighbors to gather, reducing isolation and building community.
Moving Forward Together
St Christopher’s Church has a strong foundation for this journey, with £17,145 already raised locally. This acts as vital "seed money" to attract the significant national funding needed to reach our build phase.
Our Next Milestone: The Community Audit
We are not asking for financial pledges at this stage. Instead, we are asking for your voice. To secure major grants, we must prove the impact this building will have on Allesley Park.
